Fall Club Picnic
Saturday, October 10th 2009
Noon - 4:00 pm
Location:
Jack & Kathy King's Residence
20409 Island Forest Drive
Cornelius, NC
(see 2 maps below)
Special Information:
Jack and Kathy King have graciously offered their home for our special event. Jack loves to cook and will prepare burgers and hot dogs, and grilled chicken. Volunteers are needed for side dishes and deserts.

Folks can just visit and enjoy the Kings rocks, or see cabbing demos , wire wrapping demos, or beading. He has also offered to have members bring a hunk of rough that will fit into his 18" saw and he will slab it for them for the small fee of one slice of the material; if it is a big rock, the club would appreciate a donation of a slice for the November auction.

Everyone should bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets; those who desire to swim should bring towels and sunscreen. Jack and Kathy would like to make this a kid-friendly event, and will have a special area where youth in our club can "prospect."

Everyone should plan to bring something, anything, to donate for our fundraiser for clubhouse expenses some rough, a finished craft, a recently read book, anything you think someone else would enjoy and purchase. We will then have a Dutch auction. Please bring something GREAT to help out the clubhouse!

Volunteers will be needed to help with the auction tables, kids digging area, and other events during the picnic. Please email Jack at tackyjackie@bellsouth.net or call him at work at 704-375-8453 to let him get a head count as to how many are coming so that he will know how to shop and to place your name on the volunteer list.

Directions: Come I-77 North to the Cornelius exit, which is exit 28. Turn right at the Island Forest Community sign onto Pinehurst Dr. In about 200 yards, Pinehurst will dead end at a stop sign. Turn right and then immediately turn left into the first driveway or turn around and park on the street. My house is a brick house with an open carport. The house to the right of me is a round redwood house. You will see my green truck in the driveway. You may park in my driveway or park on the street in front of my neighbors’ house.
