Jimmy Strickland will be discussing ..."Rocks you won't want to lick or carry around in your pocket." He will be using material from the Davidson Collection, including gummite and other glow in the dark materials from Spruce Pine. Anyone with potential UV active material bring it to the meeting!

The program for this month focuses on a video about geodes from Gem Center and about the geode mining in Mexico. We purchase our geodes here for sale throughout the year to support our scholarship program.

May, 2006 Danny Jones: Danny will show us how to set up display cases for both competition and just for showmanship. He will discus topical cases, interior layout, and design.
April, 2006 Sarah Boyce: Will discuss and show us opals. She will show us how to cut them, make doublets and triplets, and how to select rough. Sarah has been teaching at the Wildacres & William Holland schools for several years.
